Hair choppage

You can tell whenever I'm depressed cause I chop my hair off...which is what I did today ha ha. I thought I would post a picture because hey pictures are fun.

Sorry its not the best picture but hey self portraits with cell phones are never all that great. The girl who cut my hair was really really nice and I enjoyed her a lot. Other than that my life is boring so I have nothing really to update on ha ha.

So yesterday I went jean shopping because I need some new jeans and Express had $20.00 off all jeans. I was so excited because I fit in a size 10 and last time I went jean shopping there about 5 weeks ago I was a size 12. I know its only one pant size but i was still excited. That and I've fallen in love with a new store called Soma Intimates and they offered me a job just after shopping there. If it wasn't 35 minutes away I would consider working there, but it was still nice to know if I want to the lady said I could have a job any time.

I still haven't heard about the secretary job I applied for, and they said they would call either way. I guess no news is good news but I still really wish I knew what was going on. I would much rather know I didn't get it than sit around waiting.

Other than that my life consists of watching Grey's Anatomy courtesy of Bill buying me the second season on DVD for my birthday. I am so addicted to that show and I will be super sad when I run out of episodes, I'm half tempted to splurge and buy the 3rd season but I know I would regret it in the end. Bill's birthday is the 24th so I'm trying to think of something good to buy him, but I haven't thought of anything yet. I know one thing will be a diet coke case ha ha because he is addicted to diet coke, but I need something more than that. Ideas are welcome, but he's not the "craft" type...as in he wouldn't like it if I made him a blanket or something along those lines.

Workin' on my fitness!

So I am on this fitness kick, including eating super healthy, and can I just say been fun. Though I've only done it for 2 days though, but hey 2 days is better than none.

I have always wanted to be a runner but I never got into it; however, I found this thing online where you work your way up to running for a half hour. This is how it works

Week 1: Walk for 6 minutes, run for 1 minute, repeated 4 times. Then do this 3 times a week
Week 2: Walk for 5 minutes, run for 2 minutes, repeated 4 times. 3 times a week
Week 3: Walk for 4 minutes, run for 3 minutes, repeated 4 times. 3 times a week
Week 4: Walk for 3 minutes, run for 4 minutes, repeated 4 times. 3 times a week
Week 5: Walk for 2 minutes, run for 5 minutes, repeated 4 times. 3 times a week
Week 6: Walk for 1 minute, run for 6 minutes, repeated 4 times. 3 times a week
Week 7: Run for 28 minutes straight, 3 times a week.

I like how this plan eases your way into it. I must say it was a lot easier today than it was yesterday, and I've added that I do all that, plus I walk for an extra 20 minutes at the end. Its been quite fun, and I'm excited to see the results. I have a hard time doing baby steps, I want results right away, but I'm focused on trying this. Though I must admit my bum/legs hurt SO bad today ha ha. I even got one of those arm band things so I can put my ipod in it, and I made a running playlist with these songs on it:

-You Can't Stop the Beat: Hairspray
-Unwritten: Natasha Bedingfield
-That's How You know: Enchanted
-Suddenly I see: KT Tunstall
-So Much Better: Legally Blonde the Musical
-Real Gone: Cars
-Pocketful of Sunshine: Natasha Bedingfield
-Omigod You Guys: Legally Blonde the Musical
-Nothing Better to Do: LeAnn Rimes
-Lollipop: Mika
-Life Is A Highway: Cars
-High School Never Ends: Bowling for Soup
-Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go) Dierks Bentley
-Fergalicious: Fergie
-Favorite State of Mind: Josh Gracin
-Ever Ever After: Enchanted
-Don't Stop the Music: American Idol
-The Beauty in Ugly: Jason Mraz
-Since U Been Gone: Kelly Clarkson
-Country Girl: Rissi Palmer
-Not Like That: Ashley Tisdale

-Fighter: Christian Aguilera
-I'm Only Me When I'm With You: Taylor Swift
-Stacy's Mom: Fountains of Wayne
-Would You Go With Me: Josh Turner

Happy Birthday as well to my parents today. They have the same birthday, although my mom was born in 1953 and my dad in 1950. It was a pretty low key type of day, and I have a second job interview on Friday for the job at North High School. I'm stoked, and I really hope I get it. Its weird to think I'm applying for "grown-up" jobs with benefits and such. Oh the joys of having graduated college.

Birthday and flood update!

So today the flood continues! When I woke up this morning my mom told me to check out the backyard, a river had formed weaving between our backyard and the houses behind us. I took a video so you could see and hopefully it will post ok :) so here it is. Oh and if you have your sound turned up don't let the train scare you ha ha we have trains in waukesha like no ones business

After dealing with the flooding of our basement, I got to open presents from my parents! I got Mario Party 8 for the Wii, a Willow Tree Statue, a certificate for a manicure and pedicure at the Aveda salon, a $25.00 Itunes gift card, $24.00 in cash (we always get our age in cash haha, one perk of growing older), and when I get a job my parents will buy me a weeks worth of new clothes, my mom said they were going to get me a variety of gift cards to "work clothes" type places but that they figured this way if I find a million things at one store it will be easier. My parents are so generous and loving!

So my mom and I decided after all this that we would go check out downtown Waukesha to see the flooding damage. Downtown has these great walkways that go right next to the Fox River, well I guess I should say it had great walkways...heres some picture evidence of our flood.

This first picture is of the walkway you used to be able to walk down to get to the walkway that went along the river, as you can see the water is not only completely over the walkways but its also halfway up the ramps (on the news tonight they said its entirely up the ramp)

This picture is just me and my daddy, I thought it was cute so I would post it :) You can see the water height too I suppose

Then you can see this next one is a bridge, as in water used to be under it with lots of space between the two but now the water is up to the bridge itself.

Apparently though now the water is over that bridge completely due to more heavy rains but sorry no picture for that.

Oh and I have pictures of my cute birthday cake :) My mom got it at a bakery here in town and it seriously was so yummy!!! Plus its polka dotted ha ha. Sorry I look so icky, I actually have been sick with swollen and infected tonsils since yesterday so by the time this picture was taken I was completely wiped out.

Yet another reason why I love Wisconsin...

So right now I'm sitting in my living room enjoying the weather. Why you may ask? Well we're in the middle of a tornado warning including tornado sirens going off outside. That means a tornado has been sighted in the area. And rain, well those of you Southern Utah folk probably don't understand Wisconsin rain. We're talking flash floods where cars are getting stuck in our street because the rain has come down so hard and so fast.

My mom and I were grocery shopping, it was sunny when we went in, and then about an hour later I realized there were hardly any people left in the store. We checked out and realized why, major downpour, lightning hitting the parking lot, and HUGE thunder booms. Right after we stepped outside the door (running in the rain and getting drenched from head to toe...seriously it was like I jumped in a pool) the power went out all over the city. Driving home was the best, it was like being on a water ride ha ha.

Anyway, I'm going to go back to enjoying my tornado warning, but I just thought I'd share my adventure for today.

So, apparently I'm competitive...

Well those of you who know me well know that Devon and I used to play games...a lot before I moved back to Waukesha. Its essentially what our relationship was centered around to be completely honest because it was fun and its how we talked. Some of the best conversations of my life have been over a good game of phase 10 or Racko. I honestly thought this was a me and Devon thing, "our thing" if you will.

I also would play Risk with Jens, though we severely had to go at it light hearted because there were times we both would get so frustrated that it wasn't worth it to play. Then we realized the real rules of the game and it made things much better ha ha. Even so, I was slightly always a little angry when he beat me...which wasn't that often...sorry kid. Actually no, we were pretty even and I do believe he beat me more. Then I got the ultimate version of Life, and I would always trounce in that game but I thought it was because I'm awesome...which I am.

So I thought ok I'm not really the competitive type, I just would be competitive around Devon because thats just how things were...until I played:

Trivial Pursuit 90's edition with Bill. You see he and I have COMPLETELY different movie tastes, and he likes cartoons (I find it odd a person with a master's degree and who's favorite topic is politics and government would like said things) so agreeing on a movie is hard for us. We decided the winner of the game could pick the movie we watch next time. I lost the game by ONE pie piece, like it was such a close game. I seriously was so mad that I started to pout (in a cute way though, the kind that got me kisses). So because I was so mad I made the rule we had to play 2 out of 3 games to win the bet so we played another game and I totally won, yay me. Then we played the third game and I totally lost again by one pie piece because I was going for the wrong freaking color! I thought I needed the blue one but I really needed the orange one the whole time...it was lame. I was so mad at myself for losing in such a stupid way!!!

Needless to say I had to watch 2 episodes (ok so it wasn't really a movie then) of this show:

Whats even more sad, is I actually enjoyed the two episodes that I had to watch. I wanted to win so badly though because I was going to make him sit through the worst chick flick EVER...the mormon version of Pride and Prejudice...though the more I think about it I realized that that would have been torture for me too ha ha.

Letting Boys Win...

So today Bill and I decided to go mini-golfing at Prairie Parkway or whatever it is called. However, in our desire to enjoy the nice weather we grossly underestimated the fact it was Sunday and therefore there were a million families there with small children. Anyway, so we start golfing and I'm majorly kicking his trash (though I'm no longer to say "I'm going to kick your trash" because lets be honest its a horrible Utah saying...no offense to Utah) and he's getting kind of mad. So I decided to take my mom's advice and let him win, and things were much better after that. The moral of this story is, sometimes you just need to let boys win to keep the peace in America.

I had never been to this golf course, but it was way cute with waterfalls and stuff. I miss Swing Time though that was sadly destroyed to be the home of a McDonalds. They also had ice cream and food there so after I was "beaten" at mini-golf we got some yummy ice cream and ate it outside on the picnic tables and watch people golf. It kind of made me miss Bulloch Drug though oddly enough (I never thought I would say that by the way). After that we decided to be brave and try the new Mountain Dew flavors, which are all gross, so yes I spare you all from having to waste your money on them.

I only have one more week of being 23 years old, and let me just say 23 was WAY better than 22 for a variety of reasons, though I hope 24 will be a million times better than 23 because there is room for improvement. I had more I was going to write, but I am going to go make banana split muffins instead :D
