It's an itsy bitsy...

Teenie-weenie, aqua polka dot bikini! And it is in fact my "goal bikini", as in it is going to be what I'm proudly wearing pool-side come October when I go to Vegas. That is hoping that it's warm enough to wear outside in vegas, if not, well our hotel in Cedar City has a pool. I got a great deal on it at Old Navy thanks to my rockin' employee discount. Now I just have to get my butt into gear to wear this:

with this as a cover up, but in white not black:

I've also been reading the funniest book called "Skinny Bitch: a no-nonsense tough-love guide for savvy girls who want to stop eating crap and start looking fabulous!" by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin. I'm only on the first chapter but I already have a ton of quotes from this book that I love. My favorite so far is: "Soda is liquid Satan...now don't go patting yourself on the back if you drink diet soda. That stuff is even worse...when methyl alcohol, a component of aspartame, enters your body, it turns to formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is toxic and carcinogenic. Laboratory scientists use formaldehyde has a disinfectant or preservative. They don't fucking drink it. Perhaps you have a lumpy ass because you are preserving your fat cells with diet soda." Now I'm not sure if this is really true, and I'm going to dive into my advanced nutrition book to research this, but it's totally funny nonetheless. No wonder I have so much cellulite, I mean i'm preserving it all by the amount of diet coke I drink :)

you don't actually preserve fat cells, but yes, the formaldehyde bit is true. if you HAVE to have the occasional soda, it's actually better to drink regular - especially if you can find an all natural brand made with sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup.

also, just so you know, skinny bitch is basically a how-to guide for veganism.

Wow... That was a STRONG wording choice way to put it... :( Sheesh...

BUT... I've always heard it's so much better to drink the regular soda- rather than Diet. Sometimes, If I really want a soda, its really just because of the fizz part of it. So I get those Sparkling flavored waters, and that gets that that Fizzy craving out of the way. It still has sugar, but TONS better! :)

And... You're pretty brave to wear that bikini! Go Stacey!

haha, i'm not trying to come off strong - it's hard to read/convey emotions on the internet!

the bit about the book being a how-to guide for veganism was just a heads up, since i know a couple people who read it and were ticked off because it turned out to be something other than what they expected. i liked the book a lot, from what i read :]
